First Presbyterian on Court Square welcomes you!
We are a Presbyterian, evangelical church in the heart of downtown Harrisonburg, Virginia. We are inter-generational with families, children, youth and senior citizens all coming together to worship and serve God.
Founded in 1789, we have a long history of serving our neighbors in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.
A Typical Sunday
Whether you’re looking for the nursery, a Sunday school class or a cup of coffee, we can help you as soon as you enter the building. Stop by the Welcome Desk and we’d be happy to point you in the right direction. Greeters are also near main entrances to help. We’d love to help you get connected.
9am – Contemporary Praise & Worship
At this service you can expect modern songs with drums, guitars, and multimedia. People will be wearing everything from jeans to suits, tucked and untucked. You’ll find people of all ages and walks of life.
10:15am – Sunday School Hour
Come meet some folks in one of our many Sunday school classes. These classes are an opportunity to connect with others who are learning and growing in their faith. Sunday school classes are also available for children and youth.
11:15am – Traditional Worship
At this service, you can expect a choir, a pipe organ, classic hymns, and historical texts. You’ll find individuals, couples, young people and seniors gathered to worship.
During the Week
We have a range of activities throughout the week for children , youth, and college/adults including Bible studies, prayer, service opportunities and just plain fun together! Each of us is looking to be part of a family – a place where we are known, accepted, loved and challenged to grow. We’d be excited to have you as part of our church family.
