Will we respond in faith or fear as we move on in God’s work?

In our closing worship at the ECO National Gathering, Dana Allin, the synod executive, reminded us that the first time the people came to the border of the Promised Land, their fear was bigger than their faith, and as a result they spent 40 years wandering in the wilderness. The second time, their faith was bigger than their fear, so they crossed the Jordan, fought some battles and took the Promised Land.

In many ways we are on the edge of the Promised Land, and so the question for us is whether our faith or our fear is bigger. Being here has helped grow faith, and I’m excited to move into our Promised Land!
