The current FPC sermon series is focusing on “the least of these.” During this series you will hear of ways to reach out and minister to the less fortunate.

Prior to the initiation of this sermon series in early 2020, the Local Missions Committee discussed having a 2020 “Day of Service” for church members and friends, giving them the opportunity to serve in the community for a day. We have not yet set a date, but want to know who would be interested.

Local Missions has reached out to several non-profit organizations in Harrisonburg and has received feedback that they would wholeheartedly welcome assistance with projects that are on their horizon. These projects would require skills such as basic carpentry, painting, minor plumbing, landscaping and cleaning.

Additionally, on the Day of Service, Local Missions would like to reach out to our local first responders (police, fire and rescue) and let them know we appreciate the service work they do helping us in times of stress. Based on input from several First Responders, we’ve learned they really like to eat, so we want to show our appreciation by providing these groups with food (details to be worked out as we get closer to the date).

If you have specific questions, feel free to contact the church office or Frank Sprinkel. You can also complete the form below.
