2 & 3 Year Olds - Room 105
Teachers: Gina K.C.- Early, Cathy Phillips & Joy Douglas-Strickland
Little Lambs is a new curriculum for our little ones! Written just for 2 and 3 year olds, Little Lambs seeks to introduce young children to the Bible stories about God and his Son, Jesus. It is our hope that each child will experience God's love in Jesus and begin to respond to that love as the Holy Spirit plants seeds in each heart. Our little lambs will have activities and learning centers created to meet their social, physical, cognitive and spiritual development.
The Little Lambs will also be learning and growing through singing each morning at 9:40 in Room 221 on the second floor of our educational wing. Please bring your child to the Sunday School Room first and they will go together to singing.
Preschool Classes
Walk With Me, our curriculum for ages 4 through 8th grade, seeks to bring children and youth face to face with the stories of the Bible. It is written to integrate the multiple intelligences of all children acknowledging their need to learn and grow in a variety of styles and settings. Walk With Me also strives to have teachers and students journey together to nurture the faith of each child and to help them develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The accompanying songbook, Sing With Me, and other traditional and praise songs for children, will kick off our Sunday mornings for our youngest children! Preschool children through 1st grade will gather in Room 221 for singing each Sunday at 9:40. Singing is a great tool for learning the faith!
4 & 5 Year Olds - Room 221
Teachers: Anne DePoy & Pam Simmons
Preschoolers will learn Bible stories through activities, rhymes, art expressions, and creative centers. The lessons for spring will include stories of Jesus and how he lived with people and loved them- Jesus with Zacheus, healing the blind, calming the storm, and of course the Palm Sunday and Easter stories. The preschoolers will also learn about Paul- so this is an exciting time! Parents are reminded to use the colorful take-home cards for visual reinforcement of the lesson and to read the tie-in story at home during the week.
First Presbyterian Classes embrace the Heifer Project
It is a joy to see our classes embracing the practice of helping others! Since the fall, our elementary and youth classes have been deeply committed to caring for others through the Heifer Project International. The Heifer Project seeks to place livestock in the homes and villages of people in need of hope and sustenance. With the animals, families are transformed as they are able to feed themselves and become self sufficient. The animal's offspring enhance the cycle of life and help break the cycle of hunger and poverty. Each class has selected an animal to purchase and some have met their goal and have set new goals! Please help your child bring some of his or her own resources to Sunday School each week so they can truly give to this life giving mission. Stay tuned for a special Heifer celebration in June when we will total our offerings and send the funds off with our blessings.

3/V Bible Studies
Give persons a fish, they eat for today
Teach them to fish, they eat for a lifetime.
3V Bible Studies do not just give youth today's Bible learning, they teach them how to study the Bible and feast on God's Word for a lifetime! The 3V or 3 Views approach teaches senior high youth to look at a passage from different perspectives:
- What's the Text? Let's the text speak
- What's the Context? Gives students information on the social and cultural context of the day.
- What's Next? Moves them to examine meaning and implications from three additional viewpoints.
The studies ahead include "Freed to be God's People"-Bible Studies from Exodus and "Jesus The Christ"- learning about the witness of Jesus from Galatians, Hebrews, Revelation and the Gospels.
