We are a church that actively looks for ways to care for each other: congregational care is important to us as a result. We would love to have you join us as we seek to wrap our arms around God’s church here at First Presbyterian Church.
First-time guests are welcomed with colorful gift bags that includes information about the church and ways they can connect. Our greeter ministry and Gary Edlind, our director of visitation ministries, actively seek out guests to make them welcome. We hope that you feel welcome and loved when you visit us.
Fellowship Dinners and Events
We foster congregational fellowship through fellowship dinners, which are held the third Wednesday of most months. We also hold church-wide picnics and other events in warmer months. We want to be a congregation that enjoys coming together in community as one body. Consistent gatherings outside of Sunday morning worship help us achieve that.
We love our members, even when they can’t get to the church building. We visit those who are in retirement communities or nursing homes, and we send cards and flowers to a special TLC person or couple each week. We also visit sick and grieving congregants. We’ll support you however we can as a church.
Take Them a Meal
Take Them a Meal is a website that allows for the easy coordination of signing up to bring meals and for the person receiving and/or coordinating to know who is signed up for which days. If you, or someone you know, is going through a tough time (birth, death, recent hospitalization, etc.) and would benefit from a meal, please contact the church office (540-434-6551).
Sunday Morning Fellowship Hour
Building relationships among our members is an important part of what it means to be the church together. Join us on Sunday morning for some fellowship and if you’d like, sign up to help on coffee crew!
